At the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, today, Saturday, the first plenary session of the Arab Parliament was held for the second session of the third legislative term, headed by Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Assoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament.
At the end of the session, a general memorandum of understanding was signed between the Arab Parliament and the Arab Women Campaign for joint cooperation in implementing projects and programs that serve women’s issues and activating and empowering their role in all developmental and vital fields in society.
The memorandum was signed by the Parliament, His Excellency Counselor Kamel Mohamed Farid Shaarawy, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament, and Dr. Rehab Zein El-Din, head of the Arab Women’s Campaign.
It is worth noting that the Arab Women Campaign was launched in 2008 at the headquarters of the League of Arab States under the auspices of the former Secretary-General His Excellency Amr Moussa. Over the 16 years since its establishment, the campaign has contributed to supporting the Arab media arena with programs, events and projects concerned with women’s issues, achievements and their active role in building society. Among its most prominent programs are the “The Model Woman” program, the “White Hands Drama” program, the “Queen of Social Responsibility” program, and the “Arab Women Forum”
